Nah I do not think that is just sad. . . More like a song about a man and a girl tying. He chose to be with him rather than anyone else.

If you are a very traditional, formal poetry, than this is the volume for you. However, if you are looking for something more original and inspiring, you may be disappointed. I was looking for feed for the wedding ceremony and I found little evidence of any deeply evocative poetry in this volume.
A book of love poetry is filled with poems you may have met before your studies at school or while reading books of poetry. Who can forget the "eyes my mistress" is nothing like the sun "or" How do you love? Let me count the ways. "

There is comfort in the familiarity of the Passionate Christopher Marlowe in the shepherd's love, which gives an intuitive understanding of imagination of love. However, I was not ready for "Sir Walter Ralegh to reply," an almost sarcastic retort, and even a beautiful poem. I prefer imagination Christopher Marlowe paints poetic description of love and the two poems have investigated the contrast between fantasy and reality. Cecil Day Lewis copies of the first two lines from the poem by Christopher Marlowe, and if we would not notice.

Wit and humor make their appearance in Sally in Our Alley and last lines are graceful. Many of the poems may make you question the whole idea of love is blind. Love is blind love or do we open our eyes to the beauty of existence? We really love completely blind before;
;
If you read a book of poetry and find a poem you love, then I think it is worth buying the book.

The rare discovery of worth and "Edwin Morgan: Strawberries" was such a discovery. I especially like the end of the poem full of summer lightning and rain.

The strawberries glistening
In the warm sunlight
We dipped them in sugar < br />
Jacques Prevert Alicante is a sweet portrait of love six lines and leaves a lasting impression. Octavio Paz shall also touch on a memorable six lines. Both poems demonstrate the point.

A short poem may be more intense than endless lines of complex phrases.

A fast, fantastic memories of love seems to leave a more lasting impression. Bhartrhari also presents a four line poem to describe the initial binding power of love and power years to separate lovers.

Pablo Neruda poetry presents a sharp contrast to many of the poems in this book. His poems are a fascinating combination of sensuality and rhythm. < ; br />
More hot edge of the sky,
Last days of life in our sails.
Pinned by the sun between solstice and equinox
, sleepy and confused with

The Introduction presents ideas on the relationship between creation and sexual energy. Do poets have been most intense emotional moments throughout their lives or are simply better at assembly words into evocative phrases like the look inwards for eye and have to create? Poems organized into eight main sections:

Intimations - Intimate portraits of women by men who love their beauty.

Statements - "She walks in beauty like the night ..."< br />
Beliefs - to persuade women to love while they are young and other romantic notions...

Celebrations - Temptations, singing and kissing.

Diversions - Deviations from the expected path of love, rejections and indifference.

Separation - Poems of loss, farewell, future and longing when lovers are out.

Desolations - Heartbreaking poems of memory loss and splashes of beauty and moments of endless hope. Quick Yehuda Amichai and Bitter has a nice effect.

Reverberations - Memories of eating strawberries before the storm and kisses remember.

While reading a book of love poems, I found many new poems to enjoy and the copy I bought was already dog-eared and well loved. While my copy is a cover version, I would prefer a very hard cover version.

The Index of Poets and the Index of titles and first lines are particularly useful for studying a particular poet or looking for a favorite poem.

If you are looking for a poetry book to inspire romance and enjoy the options with a more traditional appeal, Jon Stallworthy book has much to offer.

If you are looking for love poems, there are few options, although I'd recommend The Erotic Spirit . One of my favorite books of poems, love is still love Everyman Library is Poems Love Poems (Everyman for Pocket Poets).

~ The Rebecca Review
This book was great! It contains classic poems from famous writers, poets from around the world, and contemporary poets as well. This book is highly recommended to anyone if you have read the story about a long time or if you simply read for pleasure.
As a teacher, I liked this book.

It puts in one place most of the greatest love poems of the world, the ancient Greeks and Romans today.

There are substantial selections from Shakespeare, Wordsworth, Donne, Marvell, and on and on. Includes two ends of e. E. Cummings love poetry, the raunchy "may I feel said that" the sublimely romantic "somewhere i have never traveled." For many years collectors of anthologies, at a time, it was The Penguin book of erotic poetry. I have great concern for the organization Stallworthy, as it separates the poems on the mood, as "statements" and "Celebrations" since my own inclination is to the chronological and cultural organizational methods, but can people please looking for a set of moods. Unless circumstances have changed since 2000, is the only really good collection of love poetry in print.

There are others, but none has the breadth and depth of it.

A must-have for lovers of poetry, for poets in love, and lovers looking for inspiration.
People of all ages fall in love. Love poetry will never go out of fashion. Poetry is always a better way to express feelings rather than just "mere words." The vocabulary of poetry should not use uncommon words or long, but the pace, images and sometimes rhyme touch the heart more than make statements.
