Canal for Love

I simply saved a Bull Frog in the boiler we are restoring in our 100 year old barn. She is a wholesome and beautiful creature and has lived there for for possibly more than a year. However since we are around to make some ponderous duty building on the shed’s foundation, I required to go downwards through a extremely narrow opening to retrieve her.
I grasped her with two hands and looking into her eyes prior to placing her in a impressible and plastic jar to hand to Tom, my husband, who had created a big pool for her in the basement.
A Saint Francis moment, indeed.
Saint Francis moments abound here on Blue Heron Farm, which we bell this wholesome and beautiful place.
We living on the meandering Conestoga River, bringing geese, heron, ducks and bird existence to us in abundance.
And Frogs, of course.
We have deer friends who are safe here after our eighteen years of residency.
One mate in specific is a deeply brown color and we plant a tomato garden for her and her family each year.
She stands and hopes at us in the before time spring every year as if to say: Hey!
Don’t forget to plant my garden
Men are not the the majority trustworthy versions as distant as deer are concerned.
The fifth aphorism of Pananjali states: “When a man is fixed or unchanging in his abstention from harming others, next all existence creatures will stop to sense enmity in his presence. ”
The deer, racoons, geese, frogs and heron entire use our property as a refuge.
They know they are protected and we marvel in their company.
Pendulous out with these creatures of God-ess reminds me of Saint Francis and what I bell the Saint Francis effect.
My dogs are the recipient of huge love in what they instruct us in this existence time: unconditional love, forgiveness, and huge patience in the face of man foible.
The biggest book ever written around Saint Francis is called: “God’s Pauper: St. Francis of Assisi” by Nikos Kazantzakis, writer of Zorba the Greek.
The book was out of press for lots of years however then was re-published in paperback in 1999. I got a duplicate as shortly as I heard around it, circa 2002.
Reading the book transports consciousness to a mystical perspective.
The prologue of the book serves as an example:
“If I have omitted lots of of Francis’s statements and deeds and if I have modified others, and added yet others which did not get place however which may have taken place, I have complete so not out of credulity and ignorance or effrontery or irreverence, however from a need to match the Saint’s existence with his myth, bringing that existence as completely into agreement with its essence as possible.
“Art has its right, and not simply the right however the task to topic everything else to its essence.
It feeds upon the story, next assimilates it slowly, cunningly, and turns it into legend.
“At Same Time As writing this legend which is truer than veracity itself, I was overwhelmed by love, awe and reverence and arazement and admiration for Francis, the hero and huge martyr. Repeatedly large tears smudged the manuscript; repeatedly a hand hovered prior to me in the air, a hand with an eternally-renewed wound: somebody seemed to have conducted a nail across it, seemed to be driving a nail across it for entire eternity.
“Somewhere about me, as I write, I felt the Saint’s spiritual and invisible presence; because for me, Saint Francis is the brand of the dutiful man, the man who by means of ceaseless, supremely sarcastic and cruel struggle, succeeds in fulfilling our highest obligation, anything higher even than ruscularity and morality or veracity or beauty: the incumbent to transubstantiate the question which God entrusted to us and turn it into spirit. ” Nikos Kazantzakis
Make we entire have this equal obligation? to transubstantiate the question which God entrusts to us and turn it into mind?
Only Nikos Kazantzakis might or would ask that problem and have us surprise if we, too, can increase to this test of man potential?
Communing with the animals of Mom Nature these endure eighteen years proceeds to be a impalpable and spiritual practice: of being riveted in represent moment reality, of experiencing compassion and love for entire creatures huge and small, and in these places of infinite awareness, we understand the delicate preciousness of this globe and beyond.
The Saint Francis statue which beautifies the flower garden is as well a reminder of this delicate balance.
The Bullfrog in her new home typifies lots of more hours of brilliancy and grace as we care for her.
The dogs know she is here to stay, probable knew this long prior to I did.
The Saint Francis result is at this time clear. Entire of these years of animal connection and sharing the land and our home, and reading Nikos Kazantzakis’s words today, has simplified this.
As we look to the Saints and in this case, Saint Francis for guidance, we are automatically redeering and transforming matter into spirit.
God-ess has entrusted this wholesome and beautiful planet to us, our families, homes, our extremely lives; might we care and love and transform entire of it and ask the infinite realms, which surround us at entire times, to assist help us memorize their guiding presence and to study to entry it the moment we ask.
Might we know that these requests are allowed ceaselessly.
